Hi there, and welcome to my page! My name is Joel and I love miniatures and have been doing so since I was a miniature myself. I think my fascination for miniatures was born when I as a young boy visited Stockholms many museums with my grandmother. At my favorite museums they had all sorts of dioramas and miniature models in different scales. I studied these with an obsessive fascination from every avaliable angle, imagining the tiny people and animals coming to life. It was something about taking a small slice of reality, history or whatever, and recreating it in miniature form that I just found so cool.
At the age of nine I got some Warhammer models through my cousin, and soon I started collecting Lord of the Rings miniatures since I was a huge fan of the books and the movies that came at that time in the early 2000s. I collected a lot, painted some, played none, and after a few years the interest faded away.
During my teens I had another go at the miniature hobby, but this time through scale models of WWII tanks and figures, but this too faded away after some time. Luckily I kept all my hobby stuff in moving boxes and 2018, this time as an adult, I got back into it! And here I am, 29 years old, married to the love of my life and happily painting miniatures again. I paint for myself and for the joy of creating and that is how I want to keep it. I also get a lot of joy by sharing my work with others and getting inspired by all the amazing miniature art that the community creates.
For me the end goal with miniature art is to transform the visions in my mind into something tangible that invokes feelings and stirs thoughts in the beholder, and to have a lot of fun creating it!
