Bystro, bystro! Berlin ‘45
sculpted & painted
by
Radek Pituch
Berlin, may 1945, the Reich collapsed and the remnants of the Volkssturm, hiding in the tunnels of the berliner u-bahn surrender to Soviet troops. The Soviet trooper bares features of an Asian, the Red Empire comprised of many nations including Kalmykian or Mongolian origin. To gain more originality in this piece I chose a figure bearing that features. The scenery was build using extensively sheet plastic in different thickness. The figures were made with Magic Sculpt.
An article about this scene appeared in Military in Scale, and recently in italian Steel Art. This vignette took gold at Mosonshow 2012 and bronze at Scale Model Challange 2012, both in figure vignette classes.
