Very nice vignette. I could imagine the snow a little deeper to transport the message that they are retreating from the russian winter. Just my thoughts. I like it a lot!

I had a bit different opinion about the snow.
I imagine myself that this event happened somewhere in November.
So there were not so many snow. It's like a early of first snow storm. ;)

Ok, from this perspective the snow looks fine. Please know I did not mean any offence. And of course it is your project with your ideas. I just thought every soldier retreating from Russia in history might look superimpressive if you can see that he is not only running away from the enemy, also driven by the fierce powers of winter that make him give up. This could intense the athmosphere, but nonetheless, it is a beautfiul vignette. I understand your perspective fully.
