Hello Alberto,
I use Schminke pastel chalks wich I grind to powder. 90% of the base is brushed with grinded chalks after I painted it with acrylics. Sometimes I mix the grinded chalk with water and paint with them...I used it on the tips of the ferns. The chalks dry up bright but do not shine and its easy to fade with just water! The trees are painted with three layers of chalk to get a moss effect.
Hope it is of use to you!

Forgot to say: rust effects on the helmet and dirt are also painted this (chalk with water) way on this model!John Margiotta "BloodASmedium"PLUS
