First you apply a layer of special varnish, then starting to aplly this leaf (it looks like very very thin foil) And then you seal it withone more coat of varnish. Then I glazed and toned it with oils
I love your results. When u place it over the metal, it lays down smoothly? Also, what is this special varnish? Do you know any good tutorials where it is used on minis? Sorry so many questions, I want to try this...
pretty smoothly, but sometimes more then 1 layer is needed. I used Rolco Quick Dry gilding size, http://www.rolcolabs.com . I think every large art store has gilding section.
I don't know if anyone else uses this on miniatures and didn't see any tutorials. This time the idea was mine :)
