I have tried finding a good way to recreate mos but could not recreate it with any kind of flokingmaterial because the scale just isn't right or color is off.
the way that works (for me):
I have used grinded Scmincke pastel chalks. I grind them into a powder and use it to paint with.
First paint the tree/trunk/brenches in darkbrown/green colors..... then start with the chalks
Basicly its drybrushing with the powder and after a while blow away the chalks that did not stick....
First use a dark green (Dont have a specific name for this chalk) It has to be a dark army/olive green...
Second use: vanadium yellow deep by schmincke (best color for this).Use it rich. This is the main color for this effect!
Third use: vanadium yellow light by schminke be carfull with this color in the beginning! Its quite strong! Use this color for higlighting.
The chalks give a nice flat finish...
hope this is of use....
If you have tried it and see all the pastelchalks out there more ideas will follow!
Stumbled upon this one; absolutely lovely with superb mosseffect. I haven't seen something before! It's very realistic. I must try your recipe myself one day. Thx for sharing :)
