I painted this as a competition entry but also to practise using true metallic metals. I made a small change to the original miniature, swapping out his head for that of a Dwarf Runesmith. I used Vallejo, Citadel and Scale75 paints on this miniature and I tried out the Silver and Gold Alchemy sets from Scale 75 almost using all the colours! The furnace was my favorite part to paint, using a bronze tone with a pinkish/salmon coloured metallic paint. I'm quite pleased with the axe head, I was inspired by a similar project by Steve Cornish, an artist who's work I admire. Take care! Jon
