A wonderful bust from Bigchild Creatives. This was a challenging piece for me, mostly because (despite her name perhaps), I wanted to paint her in a sunrise/sunset scene. Trying to keep the range of light narrow enough while still capturing the contras and feel of different materials took a lot of different adjustments and attempts. Overall, I’m happy with where she ended up. I’m also encouraged by the improvement I see compared to my previous attempts at similar lighting setups.

Painted largely with Kimera, Vallejo and scale artist, with some monument hobbies paints as well - while I find them too satin straight out of the bottle for my preference, I am enjoying mixing them with more matte paints to add the slightest satin finish and improve fluidity, much like using inks)
