This bust was one big challenge for me. First of all, I chose red skin color, which is quite problematic for me because I have bad colorvocite for red. So I don't see for example the contrast between red and green in the same color saturation. It blends into one for me.
Furthermore, I have placed her in a dark environment where she is lit from the front with orange(yellow) light. She's just in hell and she's lit up with flames.
For painting this bust, I chose a Kimera base set with single pigment paints to at least theoretically know how the colors will react to each other when I mix them.
So here is the result of my efforts to paint red skin in the aforementioned environment. I know it's not exactly top painting but challenges are needed.
I also now know what I would do differently today with the same painting, like for example I would not paint on a pure black base but spray the light areas with a grey basecolor.
