The FEC lore mentions the FEC being deranged cannibals. Thus, for my FEC warband, including these Flayers, I decided to make the skin tone look "healthy" rather than the usual pallid and sick tone in the GW box art. I figured out the skin would be quite ruddy because they eat a lot of protein.
I also painted the wings as if they're like papyrus rather than membranes.
