My entry for the https://kingdomdeath.com/hobby/contests/gamblers-chest-painting-contest-2024Kingdom Death Gambler's Chest Painting Competition. Entering into the Narrative Sculpt category.

This was my first time creating a piece that wasn't just the usual basing style I go for (aka, sand and maybe a tuft or two) and creating a scene rather than just a base for a mini. As such, I wanted to keep it simple whilst still being interesting enough to look at. I felt that a survivor's death - a core aspect of the game - would be a suitable subject. Deaths often come from poor dice roll results, which is where the idea to include one of the dice from KDM came from. The lightning added some extra spice, and overall I'm really happy with how it turned out.

I hope you enjoy my piece, and I hope the story comes across clear enough without explanation! After doing a few cooldown minis, I'll begin on my first entry for Scale Model Challenge in October - the 75mm https://shop.kingdomdeath.com/products/kingslayer-twilight-knight?_pos=1&_sid=3c384565d&_ss=rKDM Kingslayer Twilight Knight!
