This is my take on the RUN model from Ignisart Miniatures . For it, I wanted to do a mid-transformation woman as she stared into the eyes of Medusa.
I know a lot of art trends towards portraying femme portraits as scared victims. But with this model, I could see an inner strength. I didn't want her to just be a victim if that makes sense. More that she is standing strong even in those final moments.
Painting this figure was especially fun with being able to practice my skin and hair painting while allowing me the ability to flip to the stone side for texture work. Also, it allowed me yet again to use my fluorescent paint to add that otherworldly glow to the split in the model. While also having the snake remain unchanged across both sides. Even if I painted it with more blue tones on the stone side.

This is a wonderful idea and the execution is on point !

Thanks! It really developed into a fun project as I worked on it. Plus the ability to switch between skin and Stone made it never boring to paint on.

Thank you! That started out as a grey glaze over the partial block in of the skin's colors. With added color washes to bring in green, blue and brown. I'm glad you like it!

Lovely and original execution! There's definitely something going on with a sizzle! Beautiful piece of work!

Thanks! It was a fun one to do. I did a whole in-depth write up of my process for her on my Patreon recently. It was definitely fun being able to switch from the skin to the stone to keep the painting engaging.
