First project after Crimson Brush is now complete. Baby Kappa from Spira Mirabilis. Thanks to Andrew Buckley for giving me the idea and challenge to paint the Ronin as an older man, I reckon it has really changed the dynamic up with the sculpt.

Found this miniature quite enjoyable to paint particularly with the challenge of painting the older skin and adding the different textures to all the fabrics. Went with a greeny-orange for the baby kappa which was something a little but different.

Onto the next project!

I really love the spin on the older Ronin. You did a greatjob on this! I particularly like how the back and the kappa complement the front with different details and textures. And the baby kappa in your version is super cute. One thing I do not like about the sculpture is the lack of a moustache and as you painted it very pronounced, it frames the head a lot and I think, that it may have looked a little bit better with more facial hair painted on. Not just with those ones sculpted. But that is just my personal preference, please do not take it badly. Overall, you did an amazing job and it is a wonderfully bust!

A lovely take on this classic! Did not expect to see him an as on old, wise dude! Well done! Especially the power of your textures is a strong push forward in this one. My favourites are the hair and the swords handle. Keep on happy painting!
