Morrigan by @journeyman_miniatures.
I actually bought this mini from @mally_anderson himself at last year's Kontrast and wanted to have it ready for this year's edition, so I'm happy that I succeeded. It's not an easy one to paint, let me tell you - a LOT of very fine detail. So much so that as you can see, based on advice from some friends I resculpted the lace in the upper parts of her cloak to resemble something like a woolen lining or hood, as I just couldn't get that lace to look good! I think it was a good decision in the end and it still fits the mini well.

I went for a dungeon ambience with this one, with candle osl and a greenish tint on everything illuminated by the main source (unfortunately it is not that visible in the photos...), however it seems like the main light turned out to be too bright in the end.

Hope you enjoy.

This is a lovely rendition of this character and sculpt! Really nice addition in terms of conversion. I like the setup of the ambience and I agree a bit that the overal light is too bright to make the osl and evironment really take hold. Still it is really good and Iike a lot of things here. The cool thing is the longer you look the more you discover. Lovely texture on the stones, well done rendering of different materials, beautiful detail in her hair and much more! I like it a lot! Congratulations! I bet Mally will be really happy to see this painted! Keep on happy painting!

Thanks a lot. I'm happy that the difference of materials is visible, as I was aiming for that and wasn't sure if I got it right. The light is unrealistic but I noticed it quite late in the painting stage, and knew that the only way I could make it work is either by making the candles much less visible, thus sort of destroying the effect, or darkening all of the other elements, which at this point was pretty much impossible. But I'll take this "fantasy" lighting anyway, rule of cool ;)

Good painting! In my opinion it's a deficult for painting model that requires a lot of patience and focusing. Good job! Gold

Thank you. I agree completely, I tend to rush my models because I'm afraid I'll lose interest and focus if I spend too much time on them...

As I wrote a comment under your instagram picture, this is a lovely piece. Even though the atmosphere could have been gloomier, or darker etc. - to me the whole piece is painted beautifully and with intention. And I really like the sword and the two ravens. I think you really paint pale skin tones wonderfully! :)

Thanks again. I've had a lot of practice with skintones by this point haha
