I'm relatively new to painting busts and larger scale models as this is only the third bust I've painted so far, but I very much enjoyed the process. The idea was to make him look a bit more sinister like Tolkien's orcs, so I painted him using a lot of colder and more drab colours. I had a lot of fun picking out all the textures on him, and there's certainly a lot of those to play around with on this piece.

I was very happy to have been awarded a Silver for him in the Bust and Large Scale (Standard) category at the Miniature Painting Open Online 2023. I definitely se myself delving more into painting busts and larger scale models in the future - especially as I've got a few of them sitting on the shelf, crying out to be painted!

Overall it takes a moment to get used to the skin color, but then when you do as the viewer it opens up to many levels of detail. The fur, the leather texture, the turtle, the trousers, the wood. Everything unfolds and looks beautiful! Well done! Keep on happy painting!

The brush line is too detailed, Gold!

J'aime beaucoup cette version très sobre mais pleine de détails de textures qui me plaisent !! Les grandes échelles permettent effectivement plein de fantaisies et c'est très agréable. Bravo à toi, je vais voter or !
