Presenting DJ WIZ / Octavius from Blackcrow Miniatures on his world tour haha! Completed this project for the Crimson Brush competition here in Canberra Australia which is happening this long weekend.

I had this idea for the bust as soon as I saw it and just couldn’t get the idea out of my head. I imagine Octavius is a world renowned DJ in his spare time haha. It took minor conversion work on the bust removing the book and then sculpting some hair for octavius and top of the head for the owl. All the DJ pieces were sourced from stls and printed by Stonebeard miniatures.

Used bright colours as all good DJ wizards deserve. Thought octavius would appreciate a tea just as the base drops from the speakers. Also painted on some stickers of where he has been touring!

This was a really fun project to put together and paint specifically for Crimson Brush. Can’t wait to show it off!

    Gold and Editor's choice for me! This is such a creative version of what you can do with a bust that it exceels in creativty. An explosion even. This is why I vote it for Editor's choice! Some could say "Yeah, but the blendings are not perfect!" but I bet this creative eruption would not work if you would have focused on clean, ultra smooth blends. This is perfect like it is! Love it! Keep on happy painting!
