I just love the normal vibes of the walking dwarf. It is so peaceful, yet purposefully. And the painting really sets this character into the piece beautifully.
Gold from me. Seeing this in Monte was beautiful. I really like the artwork by Paul Bonner and this brings it too life. Your painting in each material is ace and defines the different materials together. What I personally find difficult on the sculpt and the applied paintjob is that each angle looks like a 2D illustration. This can also be a compliment and I think it is because on how the sculpt is interpreting the illustration. From my memory on how I remember it in real I felt that it does not connect as a 3-dimensional figure. Somehow. A feeling. You know I never mean this bad or such, just my honest interpretation.
I am totally convinced by the paintjob and execution. I really like how the dwarf is wandering up that plinth. That is really well layed out and the wood plinth fits perfectly. From me it works best in the front view, just like the illustration. Still a great piece!
Gold from my side!
Keep on happy painting!
