Ain’t that the truth. As I’ve gotten more clear on how painting fits in my life, I’ve found more joy in trying to satisfy that conception rather than some external expectation. The trick, of course, is holding onto that clarity!
Thanks, bud.
This is a happy dude and you painted him as such. Do not worry, four months without a brush is not a bad sign. I had almost a year when I had to refocus and find my place (due its my work). Being creative needs to be re-energised once in a while and questioning key elements from your person perspective is necessary to be happy with what you are creating. Sounds good! Good to see you back at the brush. In the meantime I take these necessary breaks as a good sign as I know I will level up after it. Keep on happy painting!
Wise words, as ever, Roman. I didn’t beat myself up about taking time off, because I regarded the break and the reflections it brought as necessary. But I think you’re quite right: continuing in a direction that has ceased to be emotionally rewarding is unsustainable, and cannot yield meaningful work. Thanks for the perspective.

Very well done, mate. Don't let abstract phylosophy spoil your happiness of creation. It's main thing in our hobby. And, of course, here is some goldRhett “Saint Toad” Jenkins
