Great painting, my friend. I like the background you did, creating a sort of eerie atmosphere. My favourite is the frontal view, where the half-moons look like they come out of her head. And the skin is very nicely done and it looks natural and the shadows work nicely! Lovely piece! More like this!
Really, really nice. Great colors, lovely composition. Gold and Editor's choice from my side. What was the key for understanding skin for you? If I may ask ...
thank you very much Roman. I srarted with flat white undercoat and and first I tried to put the lights with white with little bit of yellow and brown/black-red into shadows to create casted shadows. When I was satisfied with placing I mix midtone and slowly created darker and darker glazes ower the white places. I find that black in skintone can be really helpful, especially in shadows and lower areas that I dont want to take atention on. I "studied" painting that Moses Jao and Alessandro Natale, and I read one article about color theory about skin :)
Very nice work on the skin. I'm surprised at how white you went in the lights and still managed to make the skin not looking too highlighted. The contrasts with the shadows are perfect.
Well done.
