A Cross To Bear
A Cross To Bear
Sculpt from Kuton Sculpts based on Roberto Ferri's "Il Sogno Di Santa Eulalia". Immediately had this idea for the mode once I saw it, and painting it was a great joy. Got incredibly valuable feedback from many friends during the painting process and got it finished for SMC already, but ended up repainting the back completely and making some adjustments to the front as well after the competition. Pretty difficult to photograph the back of the model with the backdrop, but hopefully you'll be able to see enough anyway!

Quite pleased with how it ended up now, despite a few struggles along the way. Let me know what you think! :)

She is gorgeous. The sculpt translates the artwork really greatly and you managed to enhance the sculp wonderfully. The shadow side is great and the strong light really makes this piece come together with the washed-out backdrop. An interesting atmosphere is added by the red dots in the backdrop, they add a mood and are the perfect spotlight.

great proposal. technically could be less rough and i think that that avoiding the chalkines will reinforce the final effect even more ( more soft and refined feeling). but the overal look is fantastc. gold for me. and a pleasure tos ee things like this. lobve tenebrism

Thank you so much, Alfonso! I agree, the chalkiness around parts of the model is definitely something I dislike too. I'm not a 100% sure what it is a result of - is it something to do with the paints I used, the way I apply them, the amount of white used here or something completely different - if you have any ideas for fixing it I'd be eager to hear. Used microstippling a lot for the blends here too, which certainly adds to the "textured" look in some parts.
