Was inspired to paint this Hera models bust after seeing https://www.puttyandpaint.com/projects/38017this version by Moses.
Something I've been trying to push for the last year or so was my understanding of NMM, and this was the perfect bust to practice (but also intimidating as hell). The front is pretty much a copy of Moses' version, trying to understand the choices in light placement and values.
For the back I had a bigger challenge. I really liked the look of a rim light, but since I also wanted to paint the back, had to somehow integrate it into the bigger model. Not 100% with the result, as I still feel I had to make a choice between making the rimlight believable vs the back, but it's the best compromise I could find.
Curious about feedback on it, and whether it works. Let me know what you think!

It’s a nice piece with lovely bold colours. I think the back works well both in terms of the rim light and as a coherent work with the front. Good job dude. GoldJesus Perez "MrRipper"
