This is a beautiful rendition of this figure, Miriam. I like how you put her face and skin into focus by your color choices. I can see the fun and joy you had in creating it. Oh yes, water is a pain to paint convincing as it is material that is clear and usually has no color. You did ok here and I think it could get better in future projects when you look at oil paintings from art history on how painter's tackled the trickery that is water painting. I think most of it works with the reflective surface that water has. Means, a lot of environmental influances in the water. Overall a beautiful project, Miriam. Keep on happy painting!
Thank you so much Roman, that means alot to me!
I'm definitely going to keep studying, reflections of the environment are something that still baffle me on any surface so it's an ongoing challenge to learn more :)
water is not an element that can be easily represented, because it is transparent, bight and the environment influences water more than other materials. It needs much study and observation. Don’t worry about not being able to give it a more realistic appearance, as I say Isn't easy to do it. Either way, I see the effort and interest you’ve put into solving this challenge. Congratulations on the result.
I like how the skin contrasts with the rest of the figure. The bright light reflected on her, and the cooler and colder tones as you go down create a nice piece. It looks like a very hard figure to paint, and you did the sculpt justice!
