The Climb For Survival
sculpted & painted
by
Mark Haywood
54mm scratch built vignette depicting the early stages of the infamous climb out of the Andes Mountains, following the 1972 tragedy. The scene depicts Nando Parrado, Roberto Canessa and Antonio Vizintin as they struggle up part of the mountain. Care was taken to ensure the figures reflected the harsh realities of the environment, amid the starving conditions in which they had to climb. The work has now been sold.
