@Nakatan: As an Editor on Putty&Paint; I want to point out that it is confusing to see you post your “wow, gold!” under almost every entry. Your intention with this is clear. You give many golds, you get many golds back. You do this so often and so fast after an upload that my guess is you are using a bot that is doing the work for you. In this case it is a pity and sad. I do not aim at this particular work, just the fact that I suppose you are working with a programmed bot.
This is really good for your first framed diorama. I like how the vampire shows his soon to be raised minions the way and the scene feels moody. The backdrop fits really well. Overall I think that base, figure and background could be more harmonized with more in depth thoughts on composition. My favourite part beside that this is your first framed diorama is the gravestone with the bounce light on the ground. This is what I mean. Things can connect with the backdrop on many levels. Well done, a strong bronze from me!
I applaud your approach and bravery in doing this diorama. As a mainly diorama artist I love seeing folks push diorama building in new ways. This bravery and willingness to be bold will serve you well in future.
The piece is held back a bit with a lack of refinement. Backdrops should be a bit blurry and unclear as that helps suggests that things are further away. But then things closer to use should be sharper and more defined. Your figure and the foreground have 2 separate levels of refinement which breaks the illusion imho. Using different material for the rocks up front could create more details and add visual interest. For instance instead of just using cork you could add in stones or milliput or pine bark. Hope that wasn’t too much or me overstepping. :).
I look forward to seeing what else you create.
