For the paint job on this little guy (and for its size) I used a real octopus I photographed in the Wilhelmina zoo in Stuttgart as an inspiration. The octopus sat curled in on itself on the rim of an amphora in its aquarium, holding perfectly still for me to take a few images without motion blur, then in a lazy mesmerizing whirl of tentacles it vanished into its hiding place. I felt instantly drawn to the octopus, remembering how emphatic and intelligent these wonderful creatures are from another project which had me do quite some researching on octopuses. When I discovered the print model on myminifactory, I just had to do this little diorama with it!

Die Farbwahl ist ausserordendlich gelungen. Gut in Szene gesetzt. Ich mag sehr wenn jemand sich mit der Natur auseinander setzt bevor er malt. Gold!
