Good Morning Estrella bust from Pedro Fernandez Works. Painted with oils and acrylics. There are already some great versions of this with fantastic work on the mug which made me feel like I needed to do something interesting with it so I decided to play with the idea of painting transparent glass. This was a lot of fun to paint but of course it means that the model can only make sense from one narrow point of view. The title is a play on that used by Natalia Oracz for her beautiful version of the other edition of this character.
Thankyou Tapio. I'm glad to hear this - It was very satisfying and fun to paint. The distribution of freckles and redness was inspired by seeing a similar pattern on Arnau Lazaro's Aleesia bust
Thanks Conrad - of course it is not quite so impressive in real life without the benefit of fixing the point of view with a photo to make the illusion work -having said that I'm very happy with the rest of the painting
Thanks Roman - This means a lot coming from as skilled a painter as you. Besides the glass which was a fun experiment, it's the work I've been most happy with so far.
