Death of marshal Turenne, 1675
A 54mm scratch built vignette showing the sadness and despair among the soldiers, grieving over their loss of their beloved commander..
With this vignette I wanted get the feeling of a classical canvas painting, both with the composition and the painting. Note the dead marshal wearing a red jacket, to add to focus on the main person in this scene.
The vignette was done in 2015.
I just loving these scenes, telling a story in the most dramatic way possible.

its so hard to see vignettes with such a dramatic feeling like yours. the expressiveness of the faces are oustanding. i cannot understand how some people dont see the huge difference between this and some other pieces that are just unexpressive. the composition is perfect.the ambiance fits perfect with the drama. youre an all time inspiration

Mike each offering is simply amazing, the composition and colour treatment, the expressions and body language of the figures, the shadows, weathering and the groundwork just masterful work and that's exactly what I see when I look at these, total works of art so like the oil paintings created by the masters.
    • Mike Blank

Thank you so very much, I have always been inspired by classical art and paintings, conveying the emotion, drama and composition you can find within those paintings and sculptures.
