The Devil’s Daughter

In the middle of the last year I decided to paint an "evil" counterpart to the "Just an Angel"-figure, also shown here in my gallery. But unfortunately there was no appropriate figure on the market.

I was happy to convince my friend Andreas Trost to take over the engraving work and so the Devil's Daughter could reach a Gold-Medal in Master Flat Painting at the 8th International Figure and Diorama Competition at Kulmbach.

    This is one of the most beautiful flats I've seen posted to this site. It's very well done. The mask and skin are just lovely! The one thing that is catching my eye is the shading on the tummy and rib cage. It's a little too well defined with the shadows. I'd suggest trying to gett those areas a little softer in overall contrast. She looks like she should be a healthy female but the rib cage is coming across a bit emaciated. Softening up the shading and not going quite so dark in spots should help correct that.

    Thanks for all the kind comments. I am very pleased that so many liked the Figure and so I'm inspired to make another concept for a further flat figure.
