Let Darkness come…Light shall prevail!
painted
by
Sabine Rath
This is a miniature I painted during Jeremie Bonamant Teboul's Workshop at Battlefield Berlin's in July 2013.
Elves...I'm neither a great fan, nor do I really dislike them. In fact I'm very impartial there which means I probably would never have bought one. But then, this is a reeeaaally nicely sculpted miniature and the casting extremely well done.
As it was the workshop miniature I was confronted to paint something without being too enthusiastic but very neutral so I was very curious how it would work for me.
Doing NMM gold was new to me and wet blending quite difficult in Berlin summer as the colours on my wet palette, brush, and miniature dried up really fast. At first I struggled really hard but later on I enjoyed painting it very much. He has a great face!
The NMM gold is not that perfect and needs to be developed but nevertheless I was happy with the overall result at the end of the workshop. So I decided to finish the elf and create a proper base instead of burying him as permanent WIP in the depths of a cabinet.
The tower ruin is part of an old Grendel castle ruin I bought back in the mid 90's and since then lay slumbering between my basing materials until now.
Thanks for having a look!
