Black Templar
converted & painted
by
Joel Arklind Kelmeling
+ NO PITY! NO REMORSE! NO FEAR! +
I have spent the last month painting this Black Templar. I really love their esthetic and mood and tried to capture some of that with my painting and some small additions to the sculpt. I made my own purity seals to help give a sense of movement to the marine as he surges forward. The thin copper sheet also gives a better sense of scale than the thick plastic ones that comes with the kit. I also sculpted two blown out candles on his backpack and some impact craters on his right shoulder pad. Oh and the barbed wire I also crafted myself. Biggest challenge was the freehanded crosses and heraldry. It was a very enjoyable project and a step forward for me and my painting.

Best black armour I've seen painted in ages. Gold all the way. And that impact damage is just stunning!
