A 'small' Diorama using the black sun model kit 'the Guardian' which contains ED-88 and Sonny. Make sure you wave to Claude.

The scene itself depicts the boys father returning from war, follows the colours, red only appears on a few places. The boys dad just happens to now have his spirit inhabiting a robot. Thought that was a fun twist.

Decided to add a bit of a primer, as I believe my experiments leaving it out have failed. The robot coming home has the boys father's shield and blanket (note the colouring in the crest in the house). The boy is shocked, and both sad and happy, crying at the return home of his father's spirit, residing in this robot. The rest is atmosphere to add to and imply the viewer and mother. The only red used was the house, crest, and blanket/shield to help draw these items together.

Played a lot with textures, purposely trying to push em as far as I could (which can probably go further, but you know, learning). Made some (I think) pretty awesome brass flowers for the garden too, out of brass sheeting. Everything that isn't the figures was scratch built out of epoxy clay, filler, plasticard.

Lighter background for those who like that sort of thing (I don't).

Thank you Matteo, glad you enjoyed it.

Very nice, one of your best. I think you could have pushed the contrast more on the flamingo :-)

There's always next time, found out I can buy them in 5 packs. Did you know a lawn flamingo flock can strip a t-rex bare in under 90 seconds? And thanks, of course. Every now and again the idea doesn't die half way through.
