I knew going in that my choices to make accents fully gold was going to be a risk and since I painted it in sub-assemblies I had to guess how the final thing was going to look. At this point of completion, I am a bit worried that that choice has had a negative impact on the finished model. I was going for a very bright and colourful shiny magical glow kind of look to her and while I think I have pulled that off to some extent I am also very concerned and perhaps a bit disappointed with how similar everything looks and having the golden blonde hair mixing with all those gold elements doesn't quite work as well as I had hoped when I envisioned it in my head.
This has been a massive undertaking, the biggest model I've ever painted and the single largest amount of surface area to paint which was wayyyy outside my normal wheelhouse. I will be avoiding any larger model for a time now I can tell you!
Anyway, I really hope you like it, I'm at that post finished point where I find it hard to just look at the model and take it all in and so I'm really having trouble deciding if I think it's any good or not.
