This miniature can be from any fantasy medieval universe, and is supposed to represent “The Great Banker of the Crown”, an authority figure working in the beautiful world of finance, stock markets, and the logic of making profit...

With this piece, I wanted to denounce the players in financial institutions, the power of money, which weakens from within man's most precious possession: freedom...

Even if I took a banker as a basis for my work (as his influence on financial institutions is direct, and that represents what I'm criticizing), I'd like to point out that this critique isn't aimed at any person, rank, job, action or event... but... at money, this force of material ownership, of capital, a symbol of power.

Money first started out being used as a means to measure worth, to make trading easier, and wound up, in modern times, as capital, a wethod of control, as a tool to accumulate goods, to increase consumerism, as a source of envy, and the cause of many conflicts.

On a more personal level, it changes our perception of reality, and our relationship with people. It hides many ills behind our belief in material things.
