I'm guessing that the figure is meant to be looking into a flame, or, given the title, perhaps holding a torch, which would account for the unusual tints (though I am not sure why these extend to the back of the helmet). It's an interesting take.
The sculpt itself seems to represent a spartan warrior as depicted in the film 300 rather than a historically accurate one, but you cannot be faulted for that.
