Roundway Down 1643
converted & painted
by
Mark "Matabele" Taylor
A representation in 1/32nd scale of a Royalist dragoon or cavalryman at the battle of Roundway Down, July 1643. It was one of the few major Royalist victories of the Civil War. Roundway Down is an area north of the Wiltshire town of Devizes.
Two of my ancestors fought in the Civil War - I am pleased to say they were on the side of parliament.
Heavy conversion using a modified Hornet 1/32nd scale head, a modifiedAirfix plastic cuirasse and the soles of two Airfix plastic boots in 1/32nd scale. Body, uniform, boots and accessories all scratchbuilt in putty.
