Breakthrough at the Somme 1916
It is said that of those first 50 british mk1 tanks that got delivered to the front at the Somme in the autumn of 1916, only 36 were functional and were used in the very first tank attack in history. Most of these tanks were either shot to pieces or broke down somewhere in no mans land, but they had a huge and terrifying effect on the morale of their german enemies. It is said that only one of them made it to the german trenches...
1/72 scale mini diorama. A very nice and different project for me to work on a great exercise in weathering, which takes a lot of restraint in such a small scale.

Thank you Steve, I really love tanks as well both ww1 and ww2 ones! There just is something very special about those very first ones. Something mythical.Jay Martin (Redrum)
