I imagined Superman returning to earth passing the dark side of the moon as the sun hits his face. These vents take place after the Joker killed his wife, Lois Lane in Alex Ross and Mark Waid's comic Kingdom Come. He left earth in grief, now returned but hasn't yet adopted the black and red shield on his chest. I have included 2 images that show Alex Ross' illustrations for both the classic Superman and the older more cynical Superman with the red and black shield.
This is a gift for my youngest sons' 13th birthday.
The chrome Kryptonian writing didn't photograph too well. It's way too reflective but it looks awesome in real life. I m also playing around with a new DSLR so trying to work out the nuances when one side is painted warm and one cool to show the warmth of the sun and the cold of space! It's an interesting photographic challenge.
