Thanks so much Kristian for the fine words about it. Yes it is very hard to paint. There are some things that could have been done differently. Live and learn. But Thank you for your kind words and advice along the way - as always.
Eyes are great and the colour reproduction from the original photo is good. Nice idea to frame the girl with the yellow, it helps to focus the piece. Great job :)
Thank you. The frame was something i did for fun the Night before Duke - I did not have time to take it off because we arrived so late. It is only sticky tacked on. I felt it would steel too much from the overall colour feel of the piece. However, I obseved some people looking at it, and they seemed to like it, so it is still there. :) but Thank you. I must be mad, but I might try again!
I love your version of the afghan girl. It is very difficult to paint the look of this bust and you reach emotion with your paint job. I appreciate the National geographic touch (I almost do a he same for mt own version)
Thanks so much! I think it is such a difficult model to get right. And I definitely think there are better versions out there. The frame was something i did the Night before Duke. I was too late and did not have time to take it off. But people really liked it, so I left it on there. Thanks for vote!
Third version based on the same photo ?
I have painted this bust, but I tried to find a new story, a new name for her. Something different :)
It can be a good challenge to find a new way of painting her.
Yes! Actually I have two different ideas. One is very different, and the other is to try again with oils. I wasnt entirely happy with how this came out, and wanted to do better.

Thank you. Well, to be honest, I will make a third version. Actually, I might upload my first version as well. It is from a session with Ben Komets.Yannick Degiovanni
