It is a great model and I encountered myself it is not the easiest one to paint up. You have done very well, Trent and it is beautiful to follow your learning curve in every project. Right now you are at a wonderful point of enjoying the freedom to be very self confident while painting, good feeling for color choices and control over your techniques you use for certain surfaces. Your light work is beautiful, you understand complex shapes and how to put them in the right light. My suggestion for future things is to spent more time here and there. Work a little bit more - wax on, wax off style and repeat - on your areas of texture, do not call an area finished because you went through your contrast range from dark to bright, bring these area to life as well, retouch for microdetailing. I would love to see this in your future paintjobs to come. No pressure. Just my two cents on how much I enjoy your talent!
Thank you for taking the time to give me such a detailed critique, Roman. I appreciate it! Lots of things for me to consider moving forward. It was definitely a challenging model to paint. :)
One of my favourite miniatures from Joaquin. This a great version, in my opinion you did a great job on the skin tone contrast. It works so good. I wish I will have some time soon to paint it! Cheers! Marc
I have just got this one...it's a challenge right enough! You have done a fantastic job on it! The contrasting skin tones are definitely the way to go! Great work!
