Not the classical approach to paint a historic model. But it fits so very well. The helmet with all the reflexions in the metall is so crazy good. Don´t stop to inspire us.
I think this model really shows that you practice what you preach. Every ounce of color theory that you taught during the classes you gave in the Netherlands can be found in this piece.
Question however. Did you gloss varnish the nob on the shield? Because it looks like the reflections of 3 windows in the studio you shot this miniature in show through. Either that or this legionaire is standing on a planet with 3 suns.
Me gusta muchisimo Alfonso.
Es una maravilla ver las pinceladas de tu trazo en todas las superficies de la figura.
La textura del pelaje pintada es una animalada!
Los metal·les me parecen la polla, preciosos, me la guardo para estudiarla.
Love it Alfonso.
Its a pleasure to fins your brushtrokes all around the diferent materials.
The textured fur freehand is insane!
I do specially Love how you approached the metals, I will keep it as a refference to study for the future.

It is interesting to see you applied your special painting style and skills onto this historical figure. It brings out a feeling of GC illustration (compared with the more traditional ways of historical figure painting), which is really wonderful and inspiring. I cann't stop looking at all the textures, NMM effect, various reflections & subtle tones here and there, which all together make this painted figure a delicate piece of artwork.
Un ejercicio brutal de texturización y representación magnifica de cada uno de los diferentes elementos.
Una versión muy alejada de la clásica representación de las figuras históricas, me encanta. Sin duda me guardo las fotos para tenerlas de referencia.
You are a true artist, with a great ability in teaching your vision of the modelling world as I was able to see myself during your class in rome.
I will probably never be able to reach a decent level of painting but I can assure you that you are my primary source of inspiration!
