This is an old piece I finished a little over 2 years ago. I was going through some old pictures and thought I might as well post it!

I wanted to convert a Tau suit that I imagined was an experimental mark. I mixed parts from the resin Tau Commander kit, the plastic XV88 and converted underslung weapons rather than having them mounted along the side. There are some pics of the suit before I started painting it http://stockholmwarpaint.com/post/73816040011here!

I knew early on that the base was going to be an important part of the piece on account of the pose I'd chosen. It started out like any base but quickly took over and became a little project in it's own right! I built and painted the base before finishing the suit. I painted the suit and drone in Bork'an sept colours as the Bork'an sept are ment to have access to a lot of experimental war gear and I thought that fit well with the nature of the converted suit. Those colours also contrasts with the base really well!

At the bottom of the swamp you find a drove of slumbering Necrons, resembling a scene from a zombie movie or something. There's also one scarab still "alive" hiding on the back of the tree. Maybe the Tau's presence is about to re-activate them all!?!

I remember having a lot of fun working on this piece. I tried a lot of new techniques, worked with new materials and learned some new tricks! I hope you like it, if you have any questions or comments don't hesitate to post!

Lovely stuff. I am still trying to pluck up courage to do a watery scene. Great use of Lego - Jacob Nielsen would approve (as he works for Lego)
