hi all,
Me and Max we are proud to share with you the second step of our project started with Hansel&Gretel;.
This time we explore the sad and touching Andersen's tale: "The steadfast tin soldier"
Obviously we try to interpretate the story in our vision mixing my illustration idea with the crazy design of Max.
The final result is something that cross from horror to steampunk and "black tales burton's style".
If you remember the story you can see that in the box i use the space like an illustrated book that show the main moment of the tale:
Evil twins: is my interpretation of the two evil kids that put the soldier on a paper boat
in the sewer: wen he lost in the underground he meet horrible enemies
Fallen: After the sewer the soldier fall in to the ocean were a fish heat him
Burned Heart: is the sad final of the tale... the only way for the lovers to stay together is after death in the fire. the only things that remains are just a burned paper piece and a "steadfast tin heart".
With this piece we won the Best of Show Fantasy il Lugdunum (Lyon) 2015
